UX Research Work Sample

As the lead UX researcher on an early-stage Large Language Model (LLM) AI initiative, I designed and led a discovery study to shape the first product version and its ethically responsible AI principles. The goal was to align the technology with real user goals, reduce risks related to misuse and bias, and build transparency and trust into the experience from day one.

Mixed-methods approach: interviews, focus groups, surveys, use-case validation, card sorts, and concept testing with subject matter experts and user test with target users.

Validated and prioritized customer use cases, giving product, data science, and engineering teams a clear, evidence-based roadmap.

Grounded early design decisions in actual workflows instead of internal assumptions, unblocking initial product direction.

Identified usability issues and potential misuse scenarios that informed both interaction patterns and guardrail strategies.

The resulting insights directly informed the first working prototype and the product’s guiding principles, reducing the risk of product–market misalignment and surfacing ethical and safety considerations before they became costly. Those findings now function as a living foundation for ongoing feature development, evaluation criteria, and ethically responsible AI practices across future iterations of the LLM portfolio.
